It was officially announced! The Royal Baby is a boy!
After being admitted earlier in the day to St. Mary's Hospital in London, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge delivered a healthy baby boy weighing 8lbs 6oz at 4:24 p.m. (London time) according to the official statement released by the palace.
The official Twitter page of the Clarence House, posted that The Duke of Cambridge (Prince William) was present for the birth, and both Kate and her child are doing well and will remain in hospital overnight.
"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry & families have been told and are delighted," continued the official account.
Prince Charles also used the Internet to release a statement on the birth of his first grandchild:
"Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy," the Prince of Wales posted on his official website.
"Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone's life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months," he continued. "So I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future."
