The 127th edition of the Tournament Of Roses Parade is afloat and ready to make its way down the beautiful streets of Pasadena, California. For 2016, the theme of the parade is titled Find Your Adventure. For this event the Pasadena Tournament of Roses entered a partnership with the U.S. National Park Service to celebrate the centennial of our nation's national parks. "As proponents of the American spirit, we encourage you to find beauty in the landscape that builds the backdrop of your lives," reads the official website. "Every person’s adventure is different – you may find yours at the top of a mountain while mine is in my backyard; your adventure may be extraordinary while mine is familiar."
Ken Burns is the Grand Marshal at the Rose Parade 2016. The award-winning filmmaker has produced and directed many documentaries about the history of the United States. “Ken Burns is a legendary figure and a great fit for this year’s Rose Parade theme, ‘Find Your Adventure,’” said Mike Matthiessen, Tournament of Roses President. “We’re so honored to have someone like Ken, who has devoted his life to telling the story of America, lead the Rose Parade – America’s New Year Celebration – that provides hope and joy to millions of people around the world.” This is the first time Mr. Burns goes to the parade and he said: "The Rose Parade is an annual tradition woven into the fabric of America, so it’s such an honor to be chosen as the Grand Marshal. I’ve never been to the Parade in person, so this will be a new adventure for me. I’m looking forward to sharing the experience with my family and all the fans of the Rose Parade who will be watching on New Year’s Day.”
The Rose Parade 2016 is an annual American tradition and as every year, it will be broadcasted live to the world on the morning of January 1, 2016. Many networks carry the parade, as per the Rose Parade website. This year ABC, Hallmark Channel, HGTV, NBC, Univision and many other networks will be broadcasting the event to all of their viewers. These networks have apps for iOS, Android, AppleTV, AndroidTV and more where you will be able to live stream starting at 11am ET/8am PT. Will you be watching the Rose Parade 2016?
