Romney has taken a much noticed shift to the center of the issues. So, with 22 days before the Nov. 6 elections, what are now his views on women, health care and birth control.
Romney's record shows that he has always flip-flopped on the issue of abortion and birth control. According to the Romney campaign, Romney pro-life and believe that abortion is a "problem."
Romney believes that life begins at conception that the "right next step" is for the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade.
"So I would live within the law, within the Constitution as I understand it, without creating a constitutional crisis. But I do believe Roe v. Wade should be reversed to allow states to make that decision," Romney once said.
Last Tuesday, Romney told The Des Moines Register's editorial board that there's no legislation with regards to abortion that he is familiar with that would become part of his agenda.
"I mean there's an ad...which says that I'm opposed to abortion even in cases of rape and incest and when the life of the mother is at risk," Romney said. "Well, that's not true. That's not my position."
Romney also said he would end federal aid to Planned Parenthood.
"I've said time and time again, I'm a pro-life candidate," Romney said last week. "I'll be a pro-life president. The actions I'll take immediately are to remove funding for Planned Parenthood. It will not be part of my budget.
Romney also said that he will reinstate the Mexico City policy which keeps the U.S. from using foreign aid for abortions overseas.
On Monday, a new ad featuring actresses Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington condemns Republicans for their stance on abortion.
"I want to talk to you about women," Johansson said at the beginning of the spot, followed by Washington saying, "And about Mitt Romney."
"Mitt Romney is for ending funding to Planned Parenthood," Longoria said, with Johansson chiming in, "Including cancer screenings."
Washington: "He said he'd overturn Roe v. Wade."
Johansson: "We have Republicans trying to redefine rape."
Longoria: "Trying to force women to undergo invasive ultrasounds."
Johansson: "If you think that this election won't affect you and your life, think again."
Washington: "Vote."
Longoria: "Vote."
Johansson: "Vote for Barack Obama."
Rob Reiner directed the film and he he said that Romney, and running mate Paul Ryan, would "eviscerate women's rights" if they're elected in November.
"We'd be talking about getting rid of abortion, birth control, access to health care screenings," Romney said. "As a husband, son and father, I can't stand by and let this happen."
