The Sacramento Kings face the Houston Rockets again on Friday, Jan. 13, at the Golden 1 Center and pundits hardly see any reason why the results from their last meeting will be different.
The Kings and the Rockets faced off on Wednesday, Jan. 11, with Sacramento routing Houston 135-115.
Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox led the way for the Kings and unless the Rockets can find a way to contain them, they are likely to register their ninth-straight loss on Friday.
“We feel like we’re a good team, but we feel like we can be a whole lot better than we are," Fox said. "It’s good. I’m happy that we aren’t lower, but I feel like we can be better. We have a long way to go.”
Sabonis finished with a double-double performance of 25 points and 14 rebounds. He was also an assist shy of a triple-double with nine dimes.
Fox chipped in 24 points of his own along with six rebounds. Four other Kings players scored 11 or more points against Houston.
The Rockets were led by Jalen Green who had 26 points, five rebounds and three assists. Kenyon Martin Jr., coming off the bench, added 21 points and five boards.
The last time Houston won was on Dec. 26. This was a 133-118 win over the Chicago Bulls.
The Kings got the job done with more three-point shots made (19-16) and also getting more free-throw chances (26-11). Sacramento also had fewer turnovers (9-14).
“It was a combination of missing good and open shots,” Rockets coach Stephen Silas said about the final quarter. “And then not doing what we needed on the defensive end. … We have to figure out a way to close these games.”
The Kings are -10.5 spread favorites to prevail over the Rockets who are at +10.5. The Moneyline is -482 for Sacramento and +370 for Houston.
The Kings try to continue their mastery over the Rockets on Friday at the Golden 1 Center with tip-off set at 10:00 p.m. E.T. The game can be watched via NBA League Pass with live streaming also available via fuboTV.
