Robi Draco Rosa will undergo surgery for a bone marrow transplant in three weeks, the singer revealed today via Skype. Dressed in a hat, sunglasses and well rugged up, the Puerto Rican singer made his first public appearance in many months to talk about his recovery process. His manager, Angelo Medina, who also saw the singer for the first time since he left Puerto Rico at the end of last year, stated that the singer's latest MRI revealed he was cancer-free.
Draco Rosa spoke very briefly, but greeted everyone warmly and even joked about being bald following the chemotherapy treatments. "He's in the process of preparing for the bone marrow transplant," said his manager. "They already found a donor." The kind donor is apparently from Germany. The singer expressed his wish to thank the donor in person. "Draco is going to go to another clinic for the operation and then he is going to be in recovery for three or for months," said Medina.
Draco Rosa was diagnosed with non-hodgkin lymphoma in April 2011. He underwent treatment in Houston and Santa Monica, keeping him out of the music industry for almost a year until his return in March 2012, when he bag recording "Vida." In December 2012 he was declared cancer-free. However, on December 9, 2013, Medina confimred that his cancer had indeed returned. After winning Album of the Year at the Latin Grammys, Rosa also won Best Contemporary Pop Album at the Grammys.
