Multiple Los Angeles parents have responded to a police appeal for assistance in a series of 'flash mob' robberies by turning their kids in to law enforcement.

The Los Angeles Police Department released a statement last week regarding increased patrol efforts in response to a string of 14 robberies across 10 Los Angeles areas 7-Eleven stores.

The incidents were perpetrated by groups of dozens of "youthful males" who arrive on bicycles and, "the stores in the evening hours, remove merchandise, damage property, and flee without paying," according to the LAPD statement.

Assistant LAPD Chief Blake Chow announced in to the LA Board of Police Commissioners that their statement and surveillance released of the robberies "generated numerous tips from the public," according to KTLA.

"On Sept 26, the Organized Retail Crime Task Force responded to the Northeast Area where a parent had brought their juvenile child in, who was involved in a flash robbery. The child was booked for robbery," Chow said. Chow also announced that two other juvenile suspects were brought in by their parents in the following days.

Chow noted that their investigation revealed most of the robberies were not committed in the perpetrators' own neighborhoods.

The investigation remains ongoing, with more arrests anticipated as civilians and school resource officers continue to aid in the identification of suspects.
