“Riverdale” alum Luke Perry’s daughter, Sophie Perry, recently got a tattoo in honor of her late father. The 18-year-old revealed that her mushroom ink is symbolic of her dad.
On her Instagram Story, Sophie shared a photo of her new tattoo to her social media followers. She also gave them the opportunity to ask her questions. One of them asked if she misses her dad, and Sophie said that she will never not miss him.
One Instagram user also asked the teenager how she has been doing since the death of her dad in March. Sophie said that it’s a very difficult question to answer but that she’s doing fine for the most part.
Earlier this month, Sophie explained the importance of mushrooms and said that her dad was buried in a suit made of fungus, which now holds an entirely different meaning for her.
“Any explanation I give will not do justice to the genius that is the mushroom burial suit, but it is essentially an eco-friendly burial option via mushrooms,” she said. “All I can say is that you should all look into them at coeio.com or just by Googling ‘mushroom burial kit,’” she added.
Sophie also said that it was her dad who discovered the mushroom burial suit and said that he wanted to be buried in it. According to the teenager, who is volunteering in Malawi, it was one of her dad’s final wishes.
Perry passed away on March 4 after suffering a massive stroke. He was 52. The actor was buried in Dickson, Tennessee, one week later. Perry shares her two children, Sophie and Jack, 21, with his ex-wife, Minnie Sharp.
Following his death, the entire cast of “Riverdale” expressed their sadness over his sudden demise. Perry’s on-screen son, KJ Apa, who plays the role of Archie Andrews, uploaded a beautiful photo of Perry on his Instagram account. Apa kept his caption short and sweet: “Rest in Love, bro.”
The death of Perry resulted in the temporary shutting down of “Riverdale” production. The actor’s final episode on the show as Fred Andrews aired on The CW last week.
