In the interview, Residente revisited his 2005 track 'Pi-di-di-di,' a critique aimed at the producer, sharing the circumstances that inspired the song amidst the serious allegations Diddy now faces.

Residente revealed that the song stemmed from a personal interaction with Diddy that solidified his opinion of him. "Something had happened with Tego [Calderón], and that's when I started writing the song. Later, I had the opportunity to be near him," Residente explained.

However, the experience left a negative impression. "I won't lie, his energy didn't vibe with me—it never did. That's why I always avoided being near him, even when invited to events where he was present. His energy felt negative," he shared.

Tego Calderón's Connection

During the conversation, Chente Ydrach added context to Diddy's history with another Puerto Rican icon, Tego Calderón. According to Ydrach, Diddy wanted Tego to be the Latin face of his clothing brand, Sean John, but Tego declined. "He wanted Tego to represent Sean John in the Latin market, but Tego refused," Ydrach explained. This incident was one of the inspirations behind Residente's 'Pi-di-di-di.'

Residente refrained from delving into specific controversies but reflected on how recent events have given his song new meaning. "I don't want to stir up controversy, but the song came out 20 years before everything that's happening now. That's why I say, time and history put everything in its place," he said.
