At this point of the year, everyone is hoping that things look up in 2021. However, there is still a month to go and there are businesses that are trying to find ways to make it through the Holidays. That includes Fante’s Coffee in Louisville, one of many establishments trying to stay afloat.

Like most shops, Fante’s Coffee is trying its best to stay open during the COVID-19 pandemic. The three-year-old establishment could use any form of help and that came from one of their regular customers.

One customer, who frequents the coffee shop to work, started random acts of kindness by donating $1,000. That alone is a big help to aid the establishment to stay afloat. But that generosity and support did not end there according to owner Leo Fante.

"Then he came back and said, 'How's it going?' I said, 'Really well.' He said, 'I'd like to do another $1,500,'" Fante said to TV station WLKY.

The unnamed guardian angel did not stop there. He even picked up a tab worth $2,500 to make sure the coffee shop stays afloat by giving any visiting customer some free coffee.

Fante admits he was moved and appreciates the gesture and support of that regular customer. For him, regardless if it’s a business or a person, the important thing is that giving back is more important especially during these trying times.

"I don't want to lay my people off, we want to keep them employed," he said. "We've been able to keep 100% of our staff on board," Fante said.

This kind gesture calls to mind the surprising $3,000 tip that another good Samaritan did for the Nighttown in Cleveland Heights which was set to close for the holidays. The customer ordered just one beer and left a huge tip that surprised establishment owner Brendan Ring.

According to the generous customer, he made no mistake in leaving the tip and wished Ring a Merry Christmas. He ended by saying he would be back when the club reopens.
