Raúl de Molina, who has been shooting his scenes for Univision’s “El Gordo y La Flaca” in California this week, interviewed Julión Álvarez during his trip to Los Angeles on Wednesday, and he could not stop himself from making a joke about the singer’s recent controversy.
“I taught Julion Alvarez how to mop the floors and I think he learned how to do it,” De Molina wrote on social media. “But not very well.”
In a behind the scenes video, de Molina shared with his fans and followers after the segment was filmed, the two men are seen looking dandy and working that mop left to right by the venue’s pool.
“This is how you do it,” the charismatic host tells the singer as he works his magic with a brand new mop. Álvarez, who seemed to be paying close attention to de Molina's actions, responded, “I think I haven’t learned how to do it very well.”
De Molina replied, “But try it, try it! Get the mop in the water.” Eventually, Alvarez followed de Molina's lead and those floors ended up looking impeccable. Well, not really. But at least he tried!
The 32-year-old performer made the headlines and became a Twitter trend after a Mexican magazine published his comments about women, which were allegedly taken out of context and labeled the singer as machista, misogynist, chauvinist, and every other adjective used for men degrading women.
“I have fallen in love many times,” the regional Mexican music star told the publication. “But what I like is when they behave like ladies.”
He continued, “I am a very old-fashioned guy, so I like women that can pick up a mop, because you can be beautiful and good in general, but if you can’t do that, then I can’t work with that.”
The Chiapas native has been married to wife Nathaly Fernández, who now can definitely count on her husband to scrub those floors down.
