Chucky Trill, a Houston rapper, died Friday, March 5 in the Atlanta area due to a shooting incident.
The rapper's manager, known as Bone of Boneafied Entertainment confirmed that Chucky Trill was in Atlanta for the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend.
Police are looking for witnesses and information after the 33-year-old rapper was shot and killed at 3:00 a.m. on the highway near Jimmy Carter Boulevard on Atlanta's north side.
Chucky Trill, whose real name is Corey Detiege, died at a nearby hospital. There was no description of the shooter's car available at the time.
"We do not know or have a description of the suspect vehicle in this shooting and we don't know a motive at this time," Cpl. Collin Flynn of the Gwinnett County Police Department said per NME.
It's unclear if Detiege's death is linked to another fatal shooting that occurred an hour earlier along a highway in the Atlanta area.
Investigators suspect there might have been witnesses to the shooting or the events leading up to it. They are requesting that they contact the police.

Detiege, who grew up in the southeast Houston neighborhood of South Park, has been a member of the Boneafied Entertainment for about three years.
Bone said he met Detiege following the rapper's release from jail. Detiege had "talent and enthusiasm for his music," he said.
The rapper also collaborated with Lil KeKe, Propain, J-Dawg, and Trapboy Freddy. Deteige only released one album, 'Music For The Soul,' which was released in 2018.
Meanwhile, several artists expressed their condolences on Instagram.
Atlanta rapper Dirty Redd World shared an Instagram photo of Chucky Trill on Friday morning. He said his "[little] brother died in [his] arms, that's a feeling [he] will never shake."
Bun B, a well-known Houston rapper and activist, said Detiege is a good man.
"We are heartbroken this morning and send our deepest condolences to D, Bone and all of his family, friends and supporters," he said.
C Note also posted on his Instagram page, saying he never thought he'd be making a post like this for Chucky Trill.
