Following the foiled VIA Rail terror plot in Canada, a third man has been arrested on charges he "radicalized" the suspect in the planned Toronto train derailment and also planned to form a terror cell here in the United States.

Ahmed Abassi was arrested April 22 in New York City, and recently had terrorism charges filed against him. The National Post reported that he allegedly worked to radicalize Chiheb Esseghaier, the main suspect in the Canadian VIA Rail terror plot. Esseghaier was arrested by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police around the same time Abassi was picked up in New York.

Abassi is accused of applying for a visa for grounds to stay in the United States while he worked to "facilitate an act of terrorism," according to The Province. Abassi formerly lived in Canada and is a reported native of Tunisia.

Raed Jasser of Toronto was also arrested by the Mounties in regards to his alleged involvement in the Canadian derailment plot.
