Rachel Poole, the pregnant woman who was stabbed in her home while video chatting with her husband has given birth to a healthy baby girl named Isabella. The baby is said to be doing fine and Poole is still recovering from her injuries. On Wednesday evening Poole was spending some time with her husband, who is deployed overseas via FaceTime in her El Paso, Texas home. Corey Bernard Moss, a 19-year-old from Fort Bliss, Texas has been charged with criminal attempted capital murder.
Moss is said to have owed Poole money and broke into her home in order to kill her so he would not have to pay it back. Poole was nine months pregnant at the time she was stabbed. Justin Poole, Rachel's husband was video chatting with his wife when she was attacked. Poole could hear his wife screaming as she was stabbed multiple times. As Moss was stabbing Poole she screamed out his name and her husband called Moss' coworkers at the Fort Bliss military base where Moss was in training.
Rachel Poole was able to call 911 and an ambulance came quickly and rushed her to the hospital. Speaking with ABC news Poole's mother would not comment on her daughter's condition but the Daily Mail has reported that Justin Poole said on Facebook his wife lost an eye during the attack. After the attack Moss fled the house and returned to the military base where co-workers were waiting to apprehend him. Justin Poole was able to return to the United States and is currently at his wife's side.
The co-workers holding Moss found the knife he used to stab Poole in the car Moss was driven back to the base in. Following the attempted murder of Poole, Moss called a friend to pick him up and drive him back to Fort Bliss. Moss was taken into custody by the Fort Bliss military police and later turned over to El Paso police. Moss was first held on a bond of $60,000 and it was later raised to $150,000. Neighbors told KFOX 14 that Moss owed the Poole's money for damage he did to one of their cars. Justin Poole lent Moss a car while he was deployed.
