Reports have come out that Queen Elizabeth had to step in to settle matters when it seemed like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were "throwing a fit" right before their wedding. During the wedding, Markle was seen wearing a diamond and platinum bandeau tiara which was lent to her by the Queen to wear - but apparently, that wasn't the original tiara she had her eye on.
According to sources, Markle had originally wanted a tiara that had emeralds on it - but because no one was sure of its origin, and because of speculation that it might have had Russian ties, the Queen refused to lend it. This apparently disappointed Markle and caused Prince Harry to throw a fit.
So much so that the Queen allegedly had to intervene and told Harry that, "Meghan cannot have whatever she wants. She gets what tiara she’s given by me". She also, apparently, questioned Markle's need for a veil since this was not her first wedding.
For etiquette-setters, a veil and train symbolizes "youth and innocence" which is why the they're both typically worn during the first wedding only. Since the Queen was aware of Markle's first wedding to producer and talent manager, Trevor Engelson, she questioned the then-bride's need for it again.
This isn't the first time we're hearing about Markle being difficult prior to her wedding, there have been other reports that have claimed that this was also around the time when cracks in Markle and Kate Middleton's relationship began to show.
Apparently, Middleton was left in tears after a particularly stressful fitting for Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress. Markle apparently wanted the very best for her wedding day, so when things didn't live up to her standards during the fitting, she apparently threw a fit. The entire incident was said to have left Middleton "shaken and in tears", understandable since she had just given birth a few weeks prior and may have still been in an exhausted and emotional state.
The two have since then made amends, but with all that's been going on with the Sussexes battling it out with several publications - and no word of support coming from any of the royals, it doesn't look like their troubles are water under the bridge just yet.
