Meghan Markle has created quite a stir in the last few days. She and her husband, Prince Harry, have sued a couple of media publications for publicly releasing a private letter that Meghan wrote to her father, Thomas Markle Sr., some time ago. But while the Duchess of Sussex may have irked the media personnels on one hand, she has definitely won over Queen Elizabeth’s heart on the other.
A report suggests that the Queen is extremely happy with the way Meghan has “upped her game.” Her recent trip to South Africa has apparently earned the respect of Her Majesty. “She’s seeing a more mature, responsible side of Harry, and she’s really impressed with how Meghan’s upped her game,” an insider told US Weekly.
Although the Queen is allegedly well aware of the fact that the former “Suits” actress will never replace Princess Diana, as she was definitely one of a kind, she surely knows that the Duchess of Sussex can match up to her level. “It’s not an act,” said the source. “And while she’ll never replace Diana, she’s determined to follow in her footsteps.”
Ever since Meghan and Prince Harry tied the knot in May 2018, the two have been in the news for breaking several royal codes. While earlier there were reports that the royal family wasn’t too happy with the way Meghan was approaching things, it now seems that she has been making it up for everything she did wrong.
“Meghan quickly demonstrated that she is intelligent, polite and keen to learn,” said the source. “Her enthusiasm toward living a life of service and humanitarianism excites the queen and it’s just the type of vim and vigor she likes to see in someone.”
Speaking about Meghan and Harry’s recent trip to South Africa, the Palace didn’t release the details of Meghan’s outfit this time. The 38-year-old royal has allegedly given strict instructions to the Palace to not disclose any such details. Meghan opted for a low-key wardrobe and spent £4,100 on new wardrobe items for the 10-day visit, claimed Daily Mail.
“She felt that it detracted [from their work], particularly because she had that experience in Australia and New Zealand where everyone clamoured to see what she was wearing each day, she hasn’t done it this time,” said Angela Mollard on the New Idea Royals podcast.
