In a twist that feels straight out of a fairytale, a North Carolina pumpkin grower turned a modest $10 sale into a life-changing $150,000 lottery windfall, proving that sometimes, luck comes in unexpected harvests.

Roy Story told NC Education Lottery, according to reporting by Wavy News, that he grows and sells pumpkins every year, but this year was especially noteworthy when he took his earnings straight to a gas station to buy two, $5 lottery tickets.

"I raise a few pumpkins every year and sell them," Story said, per Wavy News. "Someone gave me $10 for a pumpkin and I used that to buy the ticket."

The lucky man said it took him a minute to realize he won $150K.

"I didn't have my glasses on. I thought I won $1,000," he told NC Education.

He will take home a little over $100K after taxes and said he plans to use his winnings to buy a new truck.
