Princess Beatrice Didn’t Cause Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s Split From His Ex-Fiancée

Rumors that Princess Beatrice’s boyfriend might be “rekindling” his relationship with an ex have surfaced. Apparently, the rumors started when Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi did one simple thing online — liking photos of his ex-fiancée on social media.

Mapelli Mozzi reportedly liked pictures that his former girlfriend, Dara Huang, posted on Instagram. In fact, British tabloid Express’ title on its article covering the story seems a bit suggestive that something might be going on. “Royal Love Triangle: Princess Beatrice Boyfriend ‘Rekindles Relationship With Ex-Fiancee’” the tabloid’s title said.

However, the article later backtracked and explained that Mozzi’s action is just friendly. “Although there is no suggestion the likes are anything other than friendly, they could be seen as awkward for Princess Beatrice who is trying to move forward with her new partner,” Express explained.

Mapelli Mozzi, a property millionaire, dated Huang, a designer and architect, for several years before he met Princess Beatrice. In fact, he has a two-year-old son, Christopher ‘Woolfie’ Woolf, with Huang as the ex-couple was engaged for three years before they parted ways.

Huang reportedly kept news of her breakup with Mapelli Mozzi from her parent. Her mother, who is residing in America, only knew of the split from Huang’s sister.

“I think Dara was hiding it from me,” Huang’s mother said. “She didn't want me to be sad. I am shocked.”

“It’s a sad time and sad situation,” Huang’s father, Po-Tien, revealed. “We don’t know how Dara is going to take care of it. I’m upset but there’s nothing I can do about it,” the retired NASA scientist added.

While the Mapelli Mozzi–Huang split came as a surprise to Huang's parents, an insider close to the couple insists that Princess Beatrice never dated Mapelli Mozzi while he was still with Huang. “She would never allow herself to break into another couple's happiness, especially if there was a small child involved,” the insider confirmed.

Princess Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi have known each other since childhood. Her mother, Sarah Ferguson, is the godmother of Alby, Mapelli Mozzi’s younger brother.

The romance between the two started when they met during Princess Eugenie’s wedding last year. “They hit it off instantly and have a real laugh together,” an insider told The Sun.

“They’ve been on holiday together and Beatrice introduced him to Fergie and her dad. Things are moving very quickly and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if they got engaged within a short period of time.”
