Princes William and Harry might have engaged in “peace talks” at grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral. But, things continue to remain frosty—and the rift deepens with each passing day.
Credible sources believe things could get really awkward at the forthcoming reunion of the Dukes, at the 60th birth anniversary as speculations are rife that the royal siblings “insisted” on giving separate speeches at the unveiling of a statue of Princess Diana, as cited on Page Six.
“The brothers will be physically together for the ceremony but want to make their own personal addresses,” suggested a source to The Sun. The rumors have sparked concerns about how the Dukes are clearly not in the mood to reconcile or even put on a “united front” come what may. “You might have thought they’d go for a joint statement and speech but that’s not the case. Each has insisted on preparing their own,” added the source.
While there has been no confirmation as yet, royal insiders are worried about how the brothers seem unabashed letting their animosity known to the world. “It is a big concern that their body language will suggest all is not well and they won’t present a united front,” said the source to the outlet.
Despite Harry reiterating how he harbors a great deal of respect and love for his older brother, a common friend believes things are still “difficult” between the two. William has vocalized his displeasure towards Meghan Markle for all the damage she's rustled up in the past, for wife Kate Middleton.
“It used to be quite a straightforward thing, right, because they weren’t arguing and life was simple. And then it just slowly descended into something that was difficult — personally and publicly — really over the past year and a half,” said Tom Bradby told The Times.
The brothers have been wading through a really rough patch ever since Meghan and Harry decided to step down as working royals, exited the UK, and shifted base to Montecito, California.
