Prince Royce is one who never stops. Not only did he partnered up with Pepsi back in April, but his team has just won another season of “La Voz Kids” with singer Amanda Mena being crowned as the new winner; and now he’s announced that he’s teaming up with Warner Music Latina to launch his new record label, D’León Records. "I'm excited to be launching D'León Records to support other young talent in their development," Royce said in a statement.
"I have been very fortunate to have been able to break through and succeed in this tough industry and this is one of my ways of giving back." This new label also serves to create "strategic collaborations with various media partners and brands globally to help launch each of their artists." Although this new partnership and record label is brand new, it already has a talent that will become the first artist signed with D’León Records.
Mexican pop singer, Sofía Reyes already signed her contract with the label, and will join Prince Royce during most of his “Soy el Mismo” tour, which will visit more than 20 cities in the US and Canada. "This is a new phase in my life and it's a big step," said Reyes in an interview with Billboard. "It's an honor that Prince Royce believes in me."
Not only was the bachata crooner impressed with Reyes’ soulful voice and R&B musical leanings, but Warner Music executives were also in awe of the singer’s vocal abilities. "When Prince introduced us to Sofia we knew she had the talent to become the next superstar," said Gabriela Martinez, general manager Warner Music Latina & VP Marketing, Latin America. "We are ecstatic to be part of this new venture and to share Royce's vision."
