Prince Harry So Full Of Resentment, Claims Royal Biographer After He Misses Prince Philip's Memorial Service

Royal biographer Angela Levin feels that Prince Harry might not regret missing Prince Philip's memorial service on Tuesday.

The 37-year-old was slammed for staying at his home in California instead of attending the Thanksgiving service in Westminster Abbey, London. The Duke of Sussex would no longer be given the "same degree" of personal protective security when visiting from the US despite offering to pay for it himself. This has made him pursue a legal challenge against the Home Office. His last UK trip was in July 2021 when he attended the unveiling of a statue of his late mother, Princess Diana.

After being the only major senior royal not to attend Philip's memorial service, Levin questioned whether Harry will ever recognize his "appalling behavior." She told The Sun that Harry is such a changed person, and "it is difficult to know if he will even regret not attending" the service. She recalled that the Harry she interviewed was "caring, kind and instinctive," but nowadays, "he is so full of resentment and 'me me me.'"

According to her, Harry doesn't "seem to have any broader range to care about things unless they are things impacting him" and his wife Meghan Markle.

She noted that many royals from different parts of the world made the effort to attend the memorial yet "Harry's pathetic excuse is that he didn’t feel safe." According to her, cops would have had it completely covered. She pointed out that the royal children were all there, the "heirs to the throne, so it just doesn’t make any sense that the protection wouldn’t be there."

Though Harry was absent from the event, Prince Andrew took center stage at his father Philip's memorial service amid suggestions that Queen Elizabeth was giving a sign of "endorsement" to her son, reported Daily Mail. The disgraced royal reportedly insisted on accompanying his mother from Windsor Castle to Westminster Abbey. But Andrew, who has been forced to step back from public life over his association with the paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, shocked many when he escorted her to her front-row position. People had expected that the Dean of Westminster would take the monarch to her seat.

A source said that royals, including Prince Charles and Prince William, were “dismayed” by events, according to Mirror.

Earlier this month Andrew paid a huge sum to Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre, who had accused him of rape even though he has consistently denied the allegations. The source said that his decision to put himself “front and center” of the service, which was his first public appearance since the controversial settlement was struck with Giuffre, had caused “consternation." The source added that it would be a "great shame if the service was overshadowed by all of this," and that there is a "strong sense of regret that this has happened."
