Every trip of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is closely monitored and heavily reported in the press, but their recent outing went relatively unnoticed. Even though they are royals, the couple spent an afternoon having a meal at a local pub as regular folk.

The Duke of Sussex has said in the past that he does not like the celebrity status that comes with being a royal. As if to underline the point, he was seen having lunch with his wife in Winkfield Village, Berkshire on Sunday. The couple was spotted having meal at The Rose & Crown pub by a businessman and his girlfriend, Express reported.

Prince Harry reportedly had a couple of pints of beer, while his wife stuck to having water. The meal is said to have cost them just £15 (about US$18). According to the eyewitness, they appear to have been joined by their private secretary.

The staff of the eatery knew who they were serving that afternoon, but they kept the service low-key. None of the other patrons there recognized them.

Prince Harry and Markle spent two hours at the pub, and they chatted like any normal couple. The businessman who saw the royals also said that the couple laughed a lot, and added that their son Archie, who was being cradled by his mother most of the time, was “good as gold” who didn’t cry even once.

Although Markle chose to have only water on her lunch date with her husband, in the past she indulged with food and drink. She had a blog before the marriage, in which she revealed how she added her own twist to British classic drink Primm’s Cup

The recipe of Primm’s Cup includes cucumber, mint and strawberries. Markle, however, likes to use celery and grapefruit instead, Express reported. The other drinks she likes are Sauvignon Blanc and rosé.
