Both Princess Beatrice ad Princess Eugenie are indirectly bearing the brunt of their father, Prince Andrew’s involvement with the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, and disastrous Newsnight interview. After he resigned from his royal duties last week, the two have been trying to weather out the changes that are taking place on their lives.
As Prince Andrew lost his patronages as well as funding from the Sovereign Grant, the York family is genuinely in trouble. With Sarah Ferguson also iced out of the inner workings of the Royal family, regardless of how much the Queen likes her, only Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie could keep their family in the positive spotlight, if that is still possible. Considering their charitable works and royal appearances - including an upcoming wedding, there might still be hope.
What can truly help them, however, is the support of Prince Harry. According to sources, Meghan Markle’s husband has long been particularly close to these sisters. They also have a lot of common friends, including but not limited to Ellie Goulding. Harry and Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, are reportedly close as well. The two go way back.
Royal Expert Tom Sykes commented on how the sisters got Prince Harry and PRice Wllam’s love and support as well. “William and Harry are both extremely fond of ‘Bea and Eug’ and admire the way they have carved out professional lives.”
Even the Queen is said to be low-key proud of the two in handling their duties and royal lives amid all the scandals that their family has been embroiled in. Shame that despite these good relations, Prince Andrew was reportedly worried that “his daughters are being overshadowed by William, Kate and Harry.” This was reported by the Sun in 2016.
The current scandal that Prince Andrew is part of and dragging the whole York family into could not come in such a wrong time. Prince Beatrice is already set to marry property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in the spring of 2020. If things do not get sorted out soon, it is unclear if anyone will walk the princess down the aisle, let alone if a wedding pushes through.
