Well, nobody chose the quarantine life. Yet, everyone—the former royal couple Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan included—is adhering to the lockdown restrictions to combat the pandemic. Harry and Meghan, who’ve been enjoying a rather “liberating” life with baby Archie ever since they stepped down from royal duties and moved to LA, have been sticking by one rule: Leaving the House only when it comes to charitable works.
The couple, who’s on a break from social media, put out a rather heartwarming post on their official Sussex Royal IG account: “As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute. While you may not see us here, the work continues.”
Harry and the duchess have been really busy with the social work: They’ve collaborated with Project Angel Food, an L.A. organization that focusses on delivering healthy meals to those affected by COVID-19 and other illnesses.
The royal couple left the organization’s team in awe owing to their commitment towards the cause while following the social distancing protocol to a T. Harry and Meghan work masks, gloves and kept a 6-feet distance while being outdoors.
“They told us they heard our drivers were overloaded and wanted to volunteer to lighten the drivers’ workload. I am blown away that they chose us. They care about our vulnerable population,” Said Richard Ayoub, Project Angel Food’s executive director. “Our clients are most at risk to contract the coronavirus, having compromised immune systems including heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, and most are over the age of 60,” he added.
Prince Harry has also been actively involved in the workings of WellChild, an organization that offers care to critically ill children and young adults across the United Kingdom. Credible sources have stated that Harry and Meghan have streamlined their schedules to accommodate outings only if it has a charitable element to it. They’ve been enjoying their family time alone, often ordering from Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. Meghan reportedly cooks often as they’re yet to zero in on a chef.
