Fans of both the royal family and the fictional British spy James Bond might have something exciting to look forward to next year. If plans push through, Prince Charles will star in the upcoming 25th film of the franchise, appropriately dubbed “Bond 25.”
Being the heir to the British throne certainly has its perks. While visiting the “Bond 25” set a few weeks back, he was offered a special role in the upcoming film even without him auditioning for it.
“They loved the buzz around the Queen’s appearance alongside Daniel Craig and think Charles could top even that,” a source told The Sun. “He is the epitome of everything British, perfect for a cameo role and Bond fans worldwide would absolutely love it.”
Production of the film has been beset with various accidents, which resulted in its main actor, Daniel Craig, injuring his ankle. It is hoped that Charles’ inclusion might be what it needs to reverse the production team’s bad luck. “You haven’t had any more things blowing up recently?” the royal even jokingly quipped during his visit.
“The producers are desperate to sign him. It is no secret that the film has suffered a number of setbacks but landing a Royal could be just what the movie needs,” the source added.
At the moment, Prince Charles has not yet committed to a cameo role but is said to be considering it at the moment. But should he decline, however, the production team already has a few royals in mind.
“Any confirmation of a cameo is likely to be kept top, top secret,” the insider revealed. “But if Charles doesn’t go for it Harry and Wills could be in producers sights next.”
Craig will be reprising his role as the suave MI6 agent. He will be joined by Naomie Harris, who will likewise reprise her role as Eve Moneypenny; Ralph Fiennes is the male M; Ben Whishaw returns as the tech wizard Q; and Léa Seydoux will the psychiatrist Dr. Madeleine Swann. Meanwhile, “Mr. Robot” actor Rami Malek will play the film’s main villain.
Unfortunately for Daniel Craig fans, “Bond 25” will be the actor’s last film in the franchise. At the moment, no actor has been named as Craig’s successor, but many names have been put forth as a potential Bond material, including Richard Madden, “Poldark” actor Aidan Turner, “Superman” star Henry Cavill, as well as Tom Hardy.
