It is no secret that once upon a time, people of the UK were less than thrilled to have Prince Charles as their future king. Especially after his divorce from Princess Diana in 1996, the royal endured harsh criticism from the public for several years. However, things seem to be taking a turn for the better now.
Prince Charles has always taken his duties seriously and is, in fact, outstanding at it. In October, the documentary, Prince Charles: Inside the Duchy of Cornwall, showed us how his £1billion estate has thrived under his guidance in the past few decades. The documentary also gave the viewers another side of Prince Charles that most people were not aware of, and his down-to-earth and friendly personality was highlighted.
But now, the citizens of the UK have even more respect for the heir apparent after Prince Andrew was dismissed from his royal duties post his explosive interview about his close friendship with Jeffery Epstein.
And even though, Prince Andrew's statement read that the royal will be taking a break from his duties for the foreseeable future, it is believed that the Prince of Wales plans on making it a permanent affair. In fact, the royal played a significant part in successfully retiring his younger brother.
While speaking with Australian website 9Honey, royal columnist and author, Victoria Arbiter says, "Thanks to a catalog of errors on his part, combined with a press and people largely in favor of his former wife, Diana, Charles has endured decades of scorn and ridicule, but it seems the tide may be turning," reports DailyMail.
The author further adds, "He's long approached his role with exuberance and a deeply-rooted desire to do good, but respect from the masses has, until recently, eluded him."
Talking about the persona he exudes now, Victoria continued, “Call it rebranding, a happy marriage or simply the wisdom of his years, the trifecta combined have led to Charles now being viewed as the nation's favorite, a charming and affable granddad as opposed to an eccentric and out-of-touch meddler.” Currently, Prince Charles is embarking on a solo tour of the Solomon Islands.
