“Pretty Little Liars” continues its Season 4 run with episode 16, “Close Encounters” and if you thought the first two episodes were good, you might want to wait tell you see tonight’s thriller. The Liars are on the hunt for Ali, who has been teasing a permanent return since the midseason winter finale, when she was revealed as Red Coat. But it seems like “Close Encounters” is fully focused on Ali and her mysterious movements in and out of Rosewood. Fans will be pleased to see that Ali will finally meet up with one of the Liars, and little surprise that she chooses Emily to be her confidant. The promo video for episode 16 provided some much needed insights, the first few moments reveals that despite the Liars attempting to contact Ali nearly incessantly, she makes it clear that she can’t and won’t be found unless she wants to be. So her communication with Emily should come as a serious shock, the pair meets up after a message from Ali is delivered to Emily. By none other than Shana, this only leaves us wondering how and why Shana got her hands on Ali’s message, could she be working with Ali, or maybe even working against her?
Despite the cryptically delivered message, Ali and Emily do actually met in “Close Encounters.” The pair finally gets their highly anticipated face time, and while fans are expecting some answers, they unfortunately might be left hanging. Emily prods her former best friend for answers about how she is hiding from, and why she is so terrified by them. Ali insists she knew who is threatening her, but we don’t know if she willing to admit the name to Emily, most likely on the premise that its not safe for her to know. The Liars are also shown in a bright yellow room, it seems like they were anticipating meeting Ali there. Now that she is not there, they are even more deeply concerned about her whereabouts, considering she finally admitted to not knowing who she is on the run from.
In addition the Ali drama, Aria has some drama of her own happening. After being revealed as “A,” Ezra may be unraveling. In tonight’s episode the newly revealed member of the “A” team loses his composure, and hits a driving vehicle violently, while yelling, “This isn’t over.” Jake ends up seeing this scary side of Ezra, however when he approaches Aria about the incident, she blindly defends Ezra. In the promo video Aria is heard saying, "The Ezra I know, he doesn't have a mean bone in his body," says Aria. But fans know that Ezra is not the same Aria's Ezra, hopefully his true colors will be revealed soon.
