If recent polls are anything to go by, the odds are in favor of President Trump winning the presidential debates over political rival Joe Biden. A whopping 87 percent of Republics staunchly believe that their presidential nominee will occupy the top spot in debates.
USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll recently surveyed a volley of voters from across the spectrum, whose responded indicated the same. A sizeable 47 percent of voters predicted that Trump will win the debates as compared to the other 41 percent who placed their faith in presidential nominee Biden.
What needs to be noted is that the results, 33 percent of the respondents sprouted from the perspective that political gigs egged them on to support Trump. The president seems to have the backing of independents who chose him over his Democratic rival Biden.
“Trump is gonna run all over Biden,” said Curtis Saffi, 38, an independent from Hampton, Georgia, who plans to vote for Biden. Saffi opined that he expects a different outcome, however, in the vice-presidential debate. “Kamala Harris,” he added, “she is gonna be all over (Mike) Pence.”
Thinking along similar lines, David Brockman, another Trump supporter Columbus, Indiana believed that it’s “going to be a one-sided show.” However, all’s not lost for Biden, as Democrats continue to place faith in his victory, provided he “does a good job of fact-checking Trump.”
The competition seems to have piqued to an all-new high, given how he first of the three presidential debates is just around the corner on Sept. 29. More so, because Presidential debates have always attractive mammoth viewership. The first 2016 debate between Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton clocked 84 million viewers -- a record of sorts, for a presidential debate.
Given how the pandemic upended regular ways of being, the parties were left with little option but to conduct most of their conventions online.
