The "American Idol" feud between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey has reached the Oval office.
In an interview with Miami radio station Y100 on Friday, President Obama said he thinks that Nicki Minahj and Carey are "going to be able to sort it out."
"I am confident," the president said. "I'm all about bringing people together, working for the same cause, I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they're moving forward and not going backwards."
The two divas had a falling out on during the taping of auditions in Charlotte, N.C. In a video obtained by TMZ, Nicki is heard shouting, "I told them I'm not f*ckin' putting up with her f**kin' highness over there."
The president was not to confident in his abilities to do well on "American Idol."
"You know, you've heard me sing some Al Green," Obama said. "I'm going to keep my day job."
Obama was asked which of the two artists was his favorite, but didn't really answer the question.
"Mariah, she's actually done some events for us," the president said. "I've gotten to know her and Nick (Cannon), she's a wonderful lady. Nicki I don't know, but I've got her on my iPod."
Last month, Minaj was featured on Lil Wayne's new release, Dedication 4 and created quite the controversy when she suggested that she might be voting Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
"I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy b----es is f---ing up the economy," the songstress rapped.
Obama did't take the "endorsement" to heart.
"I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that," Obama said. "But she likes to play different characters. So I don't know what's going on there. That was probably Roman who did it.
