Premios TVyNovelas 2016 Univision: 10 Reasons To Watch Telenovelas Award Show

Univision will be celebrating the best in telenovelas with Premios TVyNovelas 2016. The award show will be hosted by Marjorie De Sousa and Gabriel Soto, with comedic interventions by Adal Ramones, Adrian Uribe and Omar Chaparro.

Televisa threw the big bash in Acapulco where many of the stars we see every night attended. Angelique Boyer, Sebastián Rulli, Africa Zavala, David Zepeda, Maite Perroni and Fernando Colunga were some of the celebrities who were front and center.

The trophies were already handed out and the winners have been revealed. If you don't mind spoilers, check out the list of recipients here.

Univision will be airing the gala this Saturday, April 23, starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Check out our list of reasons why you need to watch the show:

1. Hosts: You all know the gossip between Marjorie De Sousa and Gabriel Soto, right? If you don't, catch up here. Both have been involved in a scandal, and the timing for their presentation at the show couldn't have been any better. You must watch how awkward they are with each other the whole night through and how they address the elephant in the room at the start of the event.

2. Comedians: Adal Ramones, Adrián Uribe and Omar Chaparro provide comic relief throughout the awards ceremony. We think they should've hosted the whole night, since all of their interventions were hilarious. You must watch when they all dress in drag as "TVyNovelas magazine readers" and one of them lands right on top of Sebastián Rulli's lap. Angelique Boyer's reaction is priceless!

3. Maite Perroni: The "Antes Muerta Que Lichita" star holds a tribute to all the stars who are not with us anymore. It's a very touching moment to remember the legacy each and everyone of those actors left us.

4. Alejandro Sanz: Mr. Sanz takes the stage to sing with Jesse & Joy and sing some of his hits. The Spanish singer always brings a good show to watch.

5. J Balvin: The performer opens up the show, and it's clearly a number you wouldn't want to miss.

6. Winners: Who will win Best Telenovela? Best Actress? Best Actor? All will be revealed during the show.

7. Surprises: There will be some surprise winners, so brace yourself.

8. Mijares & Emmanuel: They both take the stage for a medley of their hits; they even sing each other's songs. It'll be epic!

9. Marjorie's Fashion: The Venezuelan beauty has many wardrobe changes throughout the night that you wouldn't want to miss.

10. Angelique & Sebastián: The "Tres Veces Ana" actors are a couple in real life and guess who else is there? Angelique's ex, producer José Alberto Castro. Oh to be a fly on the wall at the Acapulco event center!
