Telemundo has gathered six of the most popular TV personalities in Spanish language television to share hosting duties at the 2016 edition of “Premios Tu Mundo” to be broadcast live on Thursday, August 25 , at 8PM /7c from the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida.
The official hosts of this year’s award show include: Rafael Amaya and Fernanda Castillo from the ratings-topping Super Series “El Señor de los Cielos,” Carlos Ponce and Maritza Rodriguez from the current romantic comedy “Silvana Sin Lana,” and David Chocarro and Aracely Arambula from the upcoming production “La Doña.”
Rafael Amaya (El Señor de los Cielos) is without a doubt one of the best-known actors in television today, with a career that includes starring roles in successful Telemundo original productions, theater, English and Spanish-language movies, and European television series. The leading man, who has also served as co-host of “The Billboard Mexican Music Awards,” “The Billboard Latin Music Awards,” and the first-ever broadcast of “Premios Tu Mundo,” starred earlier this year in the fourth season of the Super Series “El Señor de los Cielos.”
Internationally acclaimed Mexican star Aracely Arámbula has an artistic career that spans more than 15 years as an actress, host and singer. She has starred in dozens of highly-rated novelas in Mexico and around the world, such as “Acapulco, Cuerpo y Alma,” “Cañaveral de Pasiones,” “Pueblo Chico Infierno Grande,” “El Alma no tiene Color,” and “Soñadoras.” She had her first leading antagonist role on “Rencor Apasionado” in 1998 and two years later she played her first leading role in “Abrázame muy Fuerte”.
Arámbula will soon star in Telemundo’s upcoming “La Doña” in the role of Altagracia, an elegant, beautiful and successful woman who runs a construction empire, and whose series of major traumas early in life made her the implacable “Doña” she is today.
The lovely and talented Fernanda Castillo returned to Telemundo’s screen in the fourth season of Super Series “El Señor de los Cielos” in the role of Mónica Robles. Before joining the network, Fernanda appeared in a number of successful television productions in her native Mexico and the United States, including “Clap,” “La Fea Más Bella,” “Destilando Amor,” “Teresa,” and “Amor Bravío.” Fernanda’s artistic career also includes roles in theater and the big screen. She will soon star in “No Manches Frida” which hits theaters on Friday, Sept. 2.
TV Host, actor, and director David Chocarro began his artistic career in his native Argentina but it was his role in “Los Exitosos Pérez” what propelled him to international audiences. Chocarro joined Telemundo in 2012 with a leading role in “El Rostro de La Venganza.” He then starred in “En Otra Piel,” and participated in the reality show series “Top Chef Estrellas,” where he beat all other contestants to raise money for the foundation of SOS villages in Honduras. He returns to Telemundo with a leading role in “La Doña,” starring as Saul, an attorney who defends the victims of gender violence and all young women fighting for a way out of unemployment, poverty and overpopulation.
Carlos Ponce , who will also perform at the event, is an internationally recognized Puerto Rican actor, singer-songwriter and host. He got his first role on Telemundo’s soap opera “Guadalupe,” and his first leading role in the Mexican telenovela “Sentimientos Ajenos,” where he also sang the theme song. He crossed over to the English market with guest starring roles on “Beverly Hills 90210,” “7th Heaven,” and “Once and Again.” This year he returned to Spanish-language television and music in the romantic comedy “Silvana Sin Lana,” playing the leading role and performing the theme song titled “Que Bonito Es Lo Bonito,” written by him and Joel Someillán.

She is currently at the peak of her popularity thanks to her most recent successes in Telemundo’s “El Señor de los Cielos”, “Marido de Alquiler” and “La Casa de al Lado.” Currently, she plays the role of Silvana “Chivis” in the new romantic comedy “Silvana Sin Lana.” Maritza began her career in Colombia where she stood out as a successful model, a gifted entrepreneur and a versatile actress.
