Univision Network will once again celebrate the contributions of Latin music legends and current hits when the 30th edition of the "Premio Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina" (PLN) takes place live on Thursday, February 22 from the American Airlines Arena in Miami. PLN, in addition to being the first television entertainment program in Spanish, is also the longest running show of Univision.
There will be a tribute to the legends of Latin music, and the voices of today and the past will be highlighted in a special show, which will begin at the red carpet at 7 p.m. East / Pacific (6 p.m. Center). According to the organizers, the 30th edition will be different from those of past years, in which the artists were nominated and winners were selected during the most important night of Latin music. This time, PLN will recognize and applaud, without nominations, the greatest Latin artists of all time.
During the gala, historical moments will be recreated and our Latin musical legacy will be revived with the avant-garde sound of today. It will be a modern look at the evolution of Latin music for three decades and will highlight the new generation of current artists who make history in new genres and formats.
Several prominent artists have already confirmed that they will be part of this historic night, full of nostalgia, tradition, cultural idols and voices of legends on the march, such as the popular and iconic merengue artist Olga Tañón, who with 30 awards is the most awarded artist of PLN. Tañón will perform in a scenario in which color and rhythm will predominate; Romeo Santos, the King of Bachata and winner of the PLN Excellence Award in 2017, will once again delight the audience with his imposing voice and romantic songs.
Artists with a high position in the music charts have also confirmed that they will bring today's unstoppable sounds to the stage: the global sensation Maluma, and two young promises of the genre, who for the first time will stand on the stage of PLN, Bad Bunny and Ozuna; in addition, the rising star of banda music Victoria "La Mala" will be in a surprise presentation in PLN, for the first time, to captivate and delight the viewers and attendees.
Music fans can participate in the conversation and comment with others about their favorite artists and this year's celebration on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat via @PremioLoNuestro or by using the hashtag #PLN30 on their favorite social networking platform.
