As a multi-nominated group and a confirmed performer at the 2016 Premio Lo Nuestro, Banda Los Recoditos already feel like the big winners of the ceremony. The band from Sinaloa, Mexico has four nods including Regional Mexican Album of the Year and Regional Mexican Banda Artist of the Year. "We already feel winners," said lead singer Samuel Sarmiento to Latin Times. "Just the fact that they take into account your music, that they notice your work, for us is a true honor," he added.
Sarmiento, who is crossing his fingers for the band to win all four PLN awards, said the recognition was based on their sacrifice and their hard work as a band with 27 years of trajectory. "We also received the news that we're going to be performing that night," said lead singer Luis Angel "El Flaco" Franco. "It's going to be phenomenal. Multi-nominated and presenting? It's going to be awesome!," he told Latin Times about the star-studded award show airing Thursday, Feb. 18 on Univision.
Banda Los Recoditos is also stoked to present their latest studio album "Me Esta Gustando" (I'm Liking It), a production with 12 new songs. "It's already in first place on iTunes and out first single 'Pistearé' has been a success," Sarmiento said. "We made this album with lots of love," he added. Although the word 'pistear' is commonly used in Mexico, El Flaco clarified that the word is slang for "drinking alcohol." "There are certain words said in Sinaloa that not many people know and we have to explain," he said. Listen to their single below and we congratulate the boys on their nominations!
