An expecting mother with a preference for traditional baby names has taken to social media to inquire if she is "crazy" for raining on her patriotic, liberty-loving husband's parade by rejecting his "unusual" name idea.

The pregnant woman posted her conundrum in Reddit's 'Names' forum, sharing that the couple is 5 months pregnant with their second daughter, and the father "has had this one name in his mind for months" that "he thinks is a really pretty name." Unfortunately, her immediate reaction was, "No, I don't see me calling my child that."

"He wants to name our daughter Historia Liberty," the anonymous user wrote. "He just thinks it sounds really pretty and likes history and liberty. I married a patriot."

Elaborating on her thoughts of the name, she admits: "I feel like it is a bit too on the nose and will be ripe to be made fun of later in life."

"Am I crazy for thinking this?" she asked her fellow Redditors. "Or am I right that this is an unusual name and maybe not in a great way?"

Commenters assured her she was not crazy, sharing a multitude of thoughts on the name, none of which were complimentary.

Some Redditors didn't mind 'Liberty' by itself as a name, while others minded very much.

A few contributed interesting facts and context about other history-themed names the Original Poster might consider, while others merely made fun.

Those who didn't have much information to offer still delivered on snark.

But, resoundingly, the name was determined to be a no-go for any living creature. Except maybe a goldfish.

Fortunately, the couple has at least agreed to only choose a name they both like, a condition that seemingly disqualifies Historia Liberty.
