Shakira might be preparing to enter the world of motherhood, but that doesn't mean that she has forgotten about her fan base.
Last week, the Columbian singer tweeted "a little message" to her 18.7 million followers.
"Thanks for all the supportive and affectionate messages you've been sending to me over these past couple of weeks," Shakira said in the 20-second long video. "I'm very excited to see you all again soon and for you to hear my new music. I'm sure 2013 is going to be a great year for all of us. Un besito. And take care."
2013 is indeed going to be a great year for Shakira.
She is set to replace Christina Aguilera for the fourth season of NBC's The Voice.
In September, Shakira revealed that she and Spanish soccer star boyfriend Gerard Piqué, 25, are expecting a baby boy.
Spanish media elnuevodia.com is reporting that Shakira and Piqué will be naming their unborn son Biel.
Past reports have suggested that the Columbian singer was going to name her son Ulysses.
According to the report, Piqué chose the name for the his son and got the stamp of approval from Shakira.
"Biel is of Catalan origin and is a diminutive of Gabriel," the paper reports. "It is a name of biblical origin and means "servant of the Lord." This meaning would have done to convince the singer to baptize and to her first child."
Shakira burst onto the international pop scene with her 2006 single, "Hips Don't Lie." The two-time Grammy award winning artist signed on with Jay Z's Roc Nation in early 2012 to produce her latest album. She is also expected to go on a promotional tour next year.
