Porsche Museum Facility
Porsche Museum Collection Facility Porsche

Is there such thing as an automotive Shangri-La? Possibly. Within the Porsche Museum of Stuttgart lies automotive heritage spanning across eight decades. However, as special as the Porsche Museum is, it's only the tip of the iceberg.

A wider, more valuable, collection of more than 500 rare automobiles lie in another secret facility. Protected from the public in a shroud of anonymity and once even separated among various, separate undisclosed locations in the suburbs of Stuttgart, Porsche's new facility now holds all its wonderful and iconic vehicles under one roof so that the cars can be maintained and cared for day to day.

A complete catalog of the cars stored is unknown but Porsche shares that not only does the facility protect Porsche sports cars but Porsche project vehicles associated with other automakers as well, including the Audi RS2 Avant, Seats, Ladas, and even a concept family car for China.

Although Porsche aims to keep its secret facility a secret, the latest short video provides us with a glimpse of all the hidden treasures that are protected within. In particular, the video highlights Porsche's first 911 Turbo, a birthday present for Louise Porsche Pieche, the daughter of Ferdinand Porsche, and a key figure of Porsche's history.
