popSLATE may actually have Amazon shaking in their boots, the smartphone accessories is launching a new concept of iPhone case which channels an e-reader device. popSLATE new state of the art case will not only provide your iPhone 5S the necessary protection, but will also act as a second screen like that of Amazon's most popular product, the Kindle. The screen located on the back of the iPhone will feature an e-ink display, which uses very little energy and has fantastic anti-glare properties. With popSLATE's matte screen, readers will be able to view any content on their screen while also using very little battery.

Customers can now read books on the back screen of the case, also users can connect the case to the main phone and will be able to mirror the main screen on the back, including notifications, photos, etc. The case is currently available for pre-order on popSLATE's website. It retails between $129 and $149. The case has the possibility to be a serious Kindle killer, it is very appealing for those who love to read. Pages of an e-book can be turned by simply tapping the case, like the Kindle, popSLATE's case only uses energy when a page is changed and the e-ink reloads.

The case has another great benefit, it can save your iPhone's precious battery life. According to popSLATE due to the cases energy efficient screen, users can use the back screen to check information such as notifications, maps and notes on the calendar rather than using iPhone's screen which drains the battery with heavy usage. Despite the early developmental stages, popSLATE is reportedly ager to make a larger version of the case for the iPad as well -not just for the iPhone 5 or iPhone 5S.
