The American voters would want to see an election between Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republic Senator Mitt Romney in 2024, a new poll has revealed.
The poll results, revealed Thursday, based their findings on the preferences of over 1000 registered American voters. The voters were asked to list their preferred candidates for the 2024 U.S. presidential elections and the current president Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden were not listed as the options.
According to the poll results, Cuomo was the top 2024 choice for Democrats, followed by Senator Kamala Harris, who is Biden’s running mate for the upcoming U.S. presidential elections in November 2020. While Cuomo gained the support of 21 percent, Harris turned out to be the runner up at 19 percent.
Romney turned out to be a popular choice among the general population with 30 percent support. On the other hand, Vice President Mike Pence received support from 18 percent of people.
Among Republicans, however, the choice was otherwise around. While Pence received support from 31 people of Republicans, the runner-up was Donald Trump Jr. With support from 17 percent of people. Romney trailed behind with support from just 9 percent of Republicans.
If Biden defeats Trump in the upcoming November elections, it is less likely that Cuomo will be the preferred nominee for 2024 U.S. Presidential elections since Biden would then be an incumbent potentially seeking reelection.
Another poll revealed earlier this week that 59 percent of registered American voters believe that Biden will not finish his first term if he is elected as the POTUS in November. That means Harris will be the incumbent president in 2024.
