London police are now busy trying to track down a 15-year-old boy who allegedly targeted multiple young girls aged 13 at a local park. Authorities believe that all the reported incidents are linked with the teenage boy initially exposing himself before performing a sex act.
According to the police, the suspect is between 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-4 in height and had black wavy or curly hair. He wore a brown or black padded jacket, black trousers and black shoes in the first attack. The second time around, the 15-year-old allegedly wore a black hooded top that had a white circle on the shoulder as well as white strings.
The suspect first attacked a 13-year-old girl in Peckham Rye Park on New Year’s Eve. After exposing himself, she managed to avert the planned sexual assault when she screamed and scared him away.
In the second attack involving two 13-year-old girls on Mar. 2 at around 4:00 p.m., the teen also exposed himself before performing a sex act on himself.
Metropolitan police believe that the two incidents are linked and are assuring the local community that they are on the case. Detective Inspector Richard Poynter assured the public that they are looking into the two cases and have increased uniformed patrols around the park.
"I want to reassure local residents that since these two offences were reported to us we have increased uniformed patrols in and around the park,” Poynter said. “If you have any information about who this person could be it is imperative that you get in touch with us as soon as possible. Likewise if you have observed a young man acting suspiciously in the park matching the description given please make contact.”
They are encouraging the public who may have any information tied to the case to call the police on 101 or tweet @MetCC with the reference cad 5015 of 2 March or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
