Pokemon fans get ready, well if you're in the New York City area get ready! The Nintendo World store in New York City's Rockefeller Center will host a special event this Friday, October 11. The event will be to commemorate the launch of the "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" games. The event will begin at 8 p.m. and run until 1 a.m. ET. Then at midnight, Nintendo World will begin selling copies of "Pokemon X and Y" and the recently announced Nintendo 2DS handheld devices.
The Nintendo World store will stay open throughout the night to accommodate all attendees who have been waiting in line to purchase the games. In addition to allowing attendees to pick up the games, the event will also feature a Pokemon costume contest, a live DJ, Pokemon trivia, a gaming lounge with gameplay kiosks for "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y," a booth for getting temporary Pokemon tattoos and appearances from Pikachu costumed characters.
Attendees will also be eligible for Pokemon giveaways while supplies last. Gamers and fans who appear in costume will be able to show off their costumes in a special stage showcase.
"Pokemon X and Y" will launch worldwide this Saturday, October 12 for the Nintendo 3DS and the newly announced Nintendo 2DS.
