Following the Jirachi giveaway in April, The Pokémon Company will give gamers a chance to get their hands on the mythical Pokémon Darkrai. Ahead of its release, new distribution details have emerged for Darkrai.
So far, The Pokémon Company has done a mix of online and serial code distributions and this latest bit of news indicates Darkrai will be available through the latter method. Nintendo Life reports, U.S. and Canadian gamers will be able to get a serial code from retailer GameStop and EBGames, while GameMania will have them in the Netherlands and Belgium gamers can grab their codes from the same retailer or FNAC stores.
In Sweden and Norway the codes will be distributed through BR Stores and in Italy gamers will be able to get their codes for Darkrai at GameStop. We'll update the list once more details on other countries arrive.
The official Pokémon website gives gamers an insight into what Darkrai will have to offer when it arrives and also gives some insight into making the mythical 'mon stronger saying:
"Darkrai's power comes from its high Speed, its Dark Void attack, and its Bad Dreams ability. Dark Void can put all adjacent Pokémon to sleep in a Double or Triple Battle, a tactic that has certainly haunted some players' dreams. Dark Void is even more of a nightmare when used by Darkrai, as Darkrai's Bad Dreams ability deals damage to its sleeping foes at the end of each turn. Bad Dreams can effectively negate an opponent's Focus Sash item or Sturdy Ability by delivering a pretty sizable chunk of extra damage at the end of the turn.
An excellent Special Attack stat enables Darkrai to deal plenty of damage with its special attacks, too. It can also learn Nasty Plot to further increase this stat. Darkrai can learn the reliable and powerful Dark Pulse, as well as Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam. Try giving Darkrai a Life Orb to increase its damage, a Focus Sash to use Dark Void more safely, or a Choice Scarf to get Dark Void off quickly in Double or Triple Battles."
Mythical Pokémon Distribution started in February with Mew, then followed with Celebi in March and Jirachi in April.
The mytical Pokémon Darkrai will be available starting May 1 and will end May 24.
