The highly-coveted Android version of "Plants vs Zombies 2" has finally emerged but there is a catch, it's only available in China through Baidu's AppSearch Android market. If this latest report is legit it gives hopes to the millions of PopCap fans that have been waiting for the Android version to hit the Google Play Store. It has been rumored that PopCap will follow tradition and release other versions of the game almost a year after the release of the iOS "Plants vs Zombies 2" game.
Looks like the U.S. Android market will have to wait for the next wave of zombies to really hit the Google Play Store. But those who are lucky enough to grab it will not only have access to the new map-based progression system, but also a mix of costumes and themes from pirates, mummies and even the wild, wild west. The fact that the game has appeared on the Chinese market is a huge indicator that other markets should start to get the game soon.
The game is available for free on Baidu's AppSearch and the APK can actually be downloaded by anyone who can access AppSearch. However, be cautious of the permissions that this game requires, including, among other things, the capability to send SMS messages. This could be used for various purposes such as in-app purchases or receiving advertisements. If you are a daredevil and decide to download the game anyway we would suggest playing offline to avoid any mishaps.
Also when the game asks for a name during the first launch you will have to tap enter or done on your keyboard first before being able to tap the confirm button.
Those of us who are worried about what can happen to your Android device by downloading the game or would just rather not play the game in Chinese will have to wait until the U.S. Android version is released. And if the Chinese version of "PVZ 2" is real then we should definitely be seeing the game hit the U.S. market really soon.
Will you be downloading "Plants vs Zombies 2" in Chinese or waiting until the game comes out in the U.S.?
