Fans of the "Plants vs. Zombies" game are still left wondering if there will be any other mobile version other than the iOS edition. When the game went live it did so with no mention of any other mobile platforms. And questions addressed to PopCap about "Plants vs. zombies 2" for Android, Mac and PC resulted in a stay-tuned message. With no news, Android users are left to assume that they might have to wait another 11 months like when the original version of the game was released.
The hopes for a earlier release for "Plants vs. Zombies 2" on Android is dwindling fast because of an article from Product Review that suggested we should not expect the sequel on Android anytime soon. This is because of the Far Future update, which looked at the future update for the iOS version of the game but had no mention of Android at all. Following the news of the Far Future update at Gamescom 2013, Android fans took to forums to express their frustration and anger.
Product Review says that it is evident the release of "Plants vs. Zombies 2" for Android is not of great significance to PopCap.
When the original "Plants vs. Zombies" was released to Android platforms the games was immediately seen as a success and one would think PopCap would want to recapture that same kind of enthusiasm.
This move, however, does seem to be a trend among mobile games. An iOS version is released first and then other mobile platforms will get the game. Such as "Temple Run 2" which was released for iOS devices first then eight days later came out on Android devices.
Do you think PopCap is wrong for waiting to release "Plants vs. Zombies 2" on Android?
