A devastating fire broke out at Marc Anthony's luxurious villa in the Casa de Campo Resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic. The blaze, which began around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, caused significant damage to the property, prompting a swift response from local emergency services.

Local media outlets and the popular show "El Gordo y La Flaca" shared dramatic footage of firefighters battling the intense flames. The video showed the fire consuming large portions of the villa, with thick columns of smoke visible from a considerable distance.

Preliminary reports suggest the fire started in the pool area and quickly spread to other parts of the property. No injuries have been reported as all residents and staff evacuated safely. Marc Anthony, who was not present then, expressed his gratitude to the emergency responders for their quick action.

Marc Anthony's "El Oasis"

The villa, known as "El Oasis," is one of Marc Anthony's most prized properties. The 10,000-square-foot residence features a main house, multiple pavilions, bungalows, an artificial beach, and two swimming pools. It was designed to offer a secluded and luxurious retreat, far from the prying eyes of the paparazzi. There, he married his third wife, Venezuelan model Shannon de Lima.

"El Oasis" used to stand out for its size, luxurious amenities, and artistic decor. According to a piece in Architectural Digest, published in 2017, soon after Marc Anthony's wedding to De Lima, the main house was adorned with American pine finishes and boasted a collection of high-end furniture, including pieces from renowned designer Roche Bobois. The villa was a cozy and aesthetically pleasing retreat, thanks to Fernando Varela's artwork, which enhanced the interiors.

The villa's extensive grounds included well-maintained gardens with vibrant, colorful landscaping. Outdoor amenities were plentiful, with winding paths perfect for strolls. The property had two swimming pools. One mimicked an artificial beach, providing a unique and private swimming experience. The pools were complemented by a two-level palapa fitted with an entertainment setup with a screen and speakers, ideal for family gatherings and parties.

"El Oasis" could comfortably host up to 24 people, making it perfect for large gatherings or events. This exclusivity and grandeur have made the villa a popular spot for high-profile gatherings, including the filming of the reality show "Por Amor o por Dinero," hosted by Carlos Ponce in 2021.

Marc Anthony's History of Property Fires

This is not the first time Marc Anthony has faced such a tragedy. In 2019, his luxurious yacht caught fire in Miami and sank, resulting in a total loss valued at seven million dollars. This recent incident adds to the artist's unfortunate history of fire-related losses.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and conducting a thorough assessment to determine the full extent of the damage. Marc Anthony, who often spent time at the villa with his wife Nadia Ferreira and their family, is now left to consider the significant loss of this idyllic retreat.
