Actor, producer, and entrepreneur Julián Gil married Mexican sports commentator Valeria Marín in a surprise ceremony on Sunday, December 29, in Puerto Rico. The couple, who had been dating for four years, shared the news on social media, posting photos of the intimate celebration.

Both wore white—Valeria in a design by Mexican designer Benito Santos and Julián in a tuxedo by The House of Suits. The wedding took place at the restaurant Aldeana in Cidra, a locality in the Caribbean island.

While the wedding surprised fans, Julián and Valeria had been planning it for some time. They managed to gather their closest friends and family in Puerto Rico to celebrate their big day. Guests were asked to wear white or cream with optional khaki accents and were sworn to secrecy about the event.

Among the attendees were Valeria's parents, Víctor and Silvia Marín, along with her brothers, Sebastián and Lander Marín. Julián was joined by two of his three children, Nicolle and Juliancito, as well as his grandson Oliver.

There were clues

Although the couple kept their wedding plans private, there were hints leading up to the ceremony. Valeria shared a photo montage of their relationship on Instagram set to the song 'Para Siempre' by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Kany García.

Another clue was the inclusion of their dog, Batman, in the trip. Fans who follow Julián and Valeria closely know the dog rarely travels with them, as the couple splits time between Miami and Mexico City due to work commitments. This time, however, Batman not only joined the trip but also carried the wedding rings down the aisle.

The wedding had the feel of a destination celebration, with the newlyweds taking their guests to iconic Puerto Rican landmarks before the ceremony.

A love story for the ages

Julián and Valeria first met in Miami while covering the 2020 Super Bowl for TelevisaUnivision. They started dating soon after and have been inseparable ever since. By 2021 they were already referring to their relationship as one meant to last forever.

In August 2022 Julián even remarked: "We haven't signed any papers, but I already feel married." Now, two and a half years later, the papers are signed—and their love seems stronger than ever.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
