The final major of the 2013 PGA Tour season is about to begin and once again, fans in attendance as well as those watching from home will see the world's best try to tame one of the premier golf courses in America.

Hosting the 95th edition of the PGA Championship, Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York is the perfect host for the major championship finale since the course will offer 2 of the toughest finishing holes in golf.

Players To Watch - Tiger Woods

It's no secret that Tiger Woods hasn't been able to crack the win column in a major championship since his triumph over Rocco Mediate at the 2008 U.S. Open.

While Woods did put together a solid run at the recent Open Championship - finishing in a tie for 6th - the world's No. 1 ranked player was not able to overcome putting woes in the final round on the way to watching Phil Mickelson win the British for the first time in his career.

Coming off an impressive seven-stroke victory at last week's Bridgestone Invitational however, TW may have his best opportunity since the 2008 United States Open to increase his major championship win total to 15 while creeping closer to the 18 major title's Jack Nicklaus holds.

Phil Mickelson

Firing a final round 66 at last month's Open Championship, World No. 2 Phil Mickelson was able to overcome a five-stroke Sunday deficit en route to claiming his first Claret Jug. Mickelson has been strong at 2 of the 3 majors this season, finishing in second place at the 2013 U.S. Open after struggling at the Masters Championship where he finished at plus-9 and in a tie for 54th.

Lefty didn't carry a driver at any point during his recent Major victory and looking to find the same luck with hitting the ball straight and in the fairways, the 43-year-old will once again scrap the long club from his bag as he looks to complete the major season with another victory.

Rory McIlroy

2013 surely has not been the season Rory McIlroy expected to have.

Entering Thursday's PGA Championship as the third ranked golfer in the world, the young Irishman hasn't enjoyed the dominance he did last year at the PGA Championship where he won his second major title. Defeating his closest competitor by 8 strokes on his way to the major championship, McIlroy's tremendous play hasn't followed him this season.

In 12 events this season, the 24-year-old has 4 top ten finishes along with a second place finish. Making 10 cuts in 2013, McIlroy has undoubtedly given himself a chance to compete but the shot-making skills and short game prowess displayed over the past 2 seasons simply hasn't been there for Rory this year.

A strong performance at the season's final major could change all that for the former World No. 1.
