Mexican singer-songwriter Hassan Kabande, known in the music industry as Peso Pluma, has resurfaced publicly after being linked to the Sinaloa drug cartel.
The artist made headlines recently when flyers were dropped from planes over Sinaloa, Mexico, accusing him and over 25 other artists and influencers of being associated with "Los Chapitos," a Sinaloa Cartel faction faction led by the sons of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán and engulfed in a turf war with rival "La Mayiza."
The flyers accused the mentioned figures of being "arrogant, figureheads, abusive, delusional, violent, financiers, close collaborators, and money launderers." The messages urged the public to stop supporting their careers.
The photos of four individuals included the word "eliminated," implying a threat of imminent assassination. Peso Pluma was not among them.
Resurfacing on social media
Seemingly unfazed by the controversy, the 25-year-old artist posted a photo on Instagram that appeared to downplay the seriousness of the allegations.
Peso Pluma is seen flaunting his physique at a gym. Although the post was caption-free, his defiant middle finger in the photo may have been an indirect response to the situation.
Fans quickly flooded social media with supportive comments, writing: "Keep going, Peso Pluma. You're amazing," "We love you, Double P," "Your fans in Culiacán are waiting for you to collaborate with Chalino," "No one's going to turn me against him, no matter what they say," "His last story was clearly a message to his haters," and "Great response, Peso Pluma."
A show of solidarity
Despite swirling speculation about his private life and alleged criminal ties, Peso Pluma has chosen to focus on philanthropic endeavors. The artist has shown significant support for victims of the recent wildfires in Los Angeles, California. Not only has he used his social media platforms to share vital information, but he has also pledged a financial contribution to the relief efforts.
"I feel deeply saddened by the events of recent days here in Los Angeles. Thank you to all the firefighters and emergency responders who have been working tirelessly," he said in a recent statement.
For now, the alleged connection between Peso Pluma and criminal organizations remains unconfirmed. Neither the artist nor Mexican authorities have provided evidence to substantiate these claims, leaving the matter in the realm of speculation.
