A Pennsylvania father allegedly gunned down the mother of his child and her pregnant friend on Saturday, May 28, in what was described by police as a "brutal scene."

Mamadou Kallie (23) is accused of murdering his child’s mother, 20-year-old Tiara Rodriguez-Diaz, and her friend, 21-year-old Ortiz-Zayas, the Chester County District Attorney and Valley Township police said on Tuesday.

Rodriguez-Diaz was found dead less than an hour after police responded to a domestic dispute between her and Kallie.

Coatesville Police officers responded to the reports of the dispute and questioned the mother, who was in a Toyota Corolla with her 22-month-old child, she shared with Kallie.

During the quizzing, Rodriguez-Diaz told officers "everything was fine", a police statement claimed.

"After speaking with the victim and defendant, Rodriguez-Diaz drove off with the child in the back, and police cleared the scene," the statement says.

Kallie drove away in a black Ford Edge car, reports said.

Rodriguez-Diaz was found dead later that night in her car with multiple gunshot wounds. A trail of blood near the passenger door led cops to Ortiz-Zayas’ body. She was found dead on the side of the road.

"A witness told police she heard nine shots fired, and another witness reported seeing a black SUV flee the scene," says the police statement.

Police later learned that Ortiz-Zayas was five-months pregnant. Both women and the unborn child were pronounced dead at the hospital.

"Valley (Township) experienced a horrific double murder on a holiday weekend when family and friends were supposed to enjoy summer’s unofficial start. Instead, two young women and an unborn child are dead," Valley Township Police Chief Glenn Eckman said in a statement.

"It was a brutal scene for law enforcement to process, but I thank all our partners for their collaboration in finding and arresting the defendant," said Eckman.

Kallie was arrested following a shot pursuit with police. He faces two first-degree murder charges, one count of murder of an unborn child.

"The senseless and tragic murders of two women and an unborn child are outrageous. Domestic violence continues to plague our communities and homes, and its ripple effect has life-altering consequences for too many people," District Attorney Deb Ryan said in a statement. "We will do everything in our power to hold Mamadou Kallie accountable for these premeditated, intentional, and cold-blooded murders."

Rodriguez-Diaz’s and Kallie’s child was later found safe with family members of Kallie, authorities said.
