After fighting over the same man in "Vanilla Sky," it looks like Cameron Diaz and Penélope Cruz finally made peace as they cozy up together in the new Ridley Scott film, "The Counselor," an adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy screenplay.
The two stars strip off to lounge by the pool, drinking cocktails, and laying on their stomachs with strategically placed towels covering their breasts and behinds.
During the poolside scene, Diaz and Cruz look very relaxed, with no makeup on but still gorgeous, and enjoy some fruity drinks garnished with fresh strawberries. In the background, another lovely lady can be seen enjoying herself in a lounge chair.
A teaser trailer for "The Counselor" came out earlier this week. In the thriller, Michael Fassbender stars as a lawyer looking to make a little extra money by getting involved in a one-off drug deal. Things do not exactly go well and devolve into a nightmare of backstabbing and existential violence. Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, John Leguizamo and Rosie Pérez, also round out the impressive cast.
"If your definition of a friend is someone who will die for you, you don't have any friends," says Pitt in the trailer. "You may think there are things that these people are simply are incapable of. There are not." A seductive Cruz also asks Fassbender, "Have you been bad?"
The trailer for "The Counselor" also features Cameron unleashing her wild side and crawling across the hood of a convertible sports car in a tight leopard print dress.
Filming took place last summer in London and Spain and was halted temporarily after the death of the director's brother Tony in Los Angeles.
The film also marks the first on-screen reunion between husband-and-wife Penélope and Javier since 2008's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" and also reunites Brad with Ridley for the first time since 1991's cult classic "Thelma & Louise."
"The Counselor" hits theaters October 25.
