A Peachem, Vermont shooting has left two men dead after what authorities believe was a murder, suicide.

The Peachem shooting took place at the home of the gunman's, John Jackson's ex-wife, Jeannie Peabody. The events of the shooting seem to be that the shooter showed up to his ex-wife's home shot and killed her current husband and then turned the gun on himself.

According to News Max the shooter showed up to the Peabody home in a white van close to 7 a.m. Wednesday morning. Jeannie's husband Mark Peabody apparently went outside to speak with the van's driver when Mrs. Peabody heard shots and hid in her home's basement.

Peabody told the police while she was hiding in the basement she heard footsteps coming from the floor above her. Peabody ran to a neighbor's house to call 911. When the police arrived at the scene of the Peachem shooting they found Mark Peabody dead near the van and John Jackson dead inside the Peabody home.

Authorities have not given a reason or motive for the Peachem shooting. They did, however, report to the media that child support and other financial difficulties had been a source of tension between Jackson and the Peabody couple people.

A full investigation by Vermont police is currently under way.
