Move over Snooki! We have another "Jersey Shore" baby! Pauly D has confirmed he is the father of a baby girl. "I'm proud I'm a father," the DJ, whose real name is Paul DelVecchio, said in a statement. "At 33 I am excited to embark on this new part of my life." According to TMZ, who broke the news first, Pauly D met the 26-year-old baby mamma in Las Vegas, although she's now living in New Jersey. They apparently got together while he was DJ'ing there and she gave birth a few months ago.
E! News later reported that the two "didn't have a previous relationship," but the reality star "is hoping to develop a relationship" with his child's mother, according to a source. "[He] wasn't exactly planning for it to happen this way, but God works in mysterious ways." The mother reportedly filed court documents in New Jersey to formally establish paternity; however, TMZ reports that Pauly D already took a DNA test that determined he was the father. He has taken the news too well, given that since he announced that he's a dad, Pauly has been retweeting well wishes from fans and friends, including his former "Jersey Shore" castmates.
This is the first child for the reality TV personality/DJ, although he claims he has some experience with babies. Back in 2012, when Snooki was pregnant with her baby Lorenzo, Pauly told People, "I want to be Uncle Pauly ... And I want to be a part of that baby's life, because Snooki is one of my best friends now, and I'd love to be with her when she's delivering the baby, and I'd love to babysit." He promised he would "teach this kid how to deejay," but wasn't so sure about getting into the "diaper changing." "I don't know so much," he said. "Maybe I'll give [the baby] back to her for that."
